For PoA registration in Karnataka, any one of the following government-issued identity documents is generally adequate:
- PAN Card
- Aadhaar Card
- Passport
RECENT PRACTICAL EXAMPLE Recently, one of our NRI clients travelled to Bengaluru and successfully registered a Power of Attorney using only a PAN card as identity proof. The Sub-Registrar Office did not insist on Aadhaar or a passport for the registration. We highlighted the PAN Number in our application
Below is an image of the registered Power of Attorney document, where the PAN number has been highlighted for reference, demonstrating its acceptance during the registration process.
If you are planning to register a Power of Attorney in Karnataka, whether you are a resident or an NRI, a PAN card alone is generally sufficient, subject to the verification norms and discretion of the concerned Sub-Registrar Office.
At PGN Property, we provide end-to-end support for Power of Attorney drafting, verification, and registration
