Gift Deed Charges for Family Members in Bangalore
In Karnataka, concessional government charges apply when the property is gifted to close family members such as father, mother, spouse, children, and siblings.
Applicable Charges:
- Stamp Duty: Rs. 5,000
- Surcharge: Rs. 150
- Cess: Rs. 500
- Registration Fee: Rs. 1,000
- Scanning Fee: Rs. 50 per page

Gift Deed Charges for Multiple Beneficiaries
When a Gift Deed involves more than one beneficiary, government charges are generally calculated per beneficiary.
For example, we recently completed a Gift Deed registration where a mother gifted property to her son and daughter-in-law. In this case, the total government charges amounted to Rs. 13,950, including the applicable stamp duty and registration fees for each beneficiary.

Gift Deed Charges Outside Family or With Consideration Amount
If the Gift Deed is executed outside the defined family category, or if there is a consideration amount involved, normal property registration charges will apply.
Standard Charges in Bangalore:
- Stamp Duty: 5%
- Surcharge: 0.1%
- Cess: 0.5%
- Registration Fee: 2%
- Scanning Fee: Rs. 50 per page
Note: The percentage charges are calculated based on the consideration amount or the guidance value, whichever is higher.
